Winter Canola Extension

Welcome the Canola Site

Welcome to the Oklahoma State University winter canola extension website. Oklahoma is currently ranked second in the U.S. in canola acreage. Winter canola has proven to be a great option for crop rotation with winter wheat in the region. By incorporating canola into their crop rotation, many Oklahoma wheat producers have cleaned up their weedy wheat fields, improved wheat quality, increased wheat forage and increased wheat grain yields. Since its inception in 2004, the Okanola project has been instrumental in the adoption of winter canola in the Southern Great Plains by providing the knowledge and information needed to produce a successful canola crop.
